Matcha Supergreen Smoothie
Vegetarian. Dairy Free. Vegan. Refined Sugar-Free. Makes 2x 500ml smoothies .
This super smoothie is my daily go to for a boost of leafy and powdered greens. It’s the perfect mid morning or late afternoon snack for while you’re at work or plugging away on a project at home. Green smoothies tend to be great for curbing sweet cravings, so go for one of these before you go reaching for the office cookie jar.
1/2 frozen mango
2 frozen bananas
1 big handful of spinach
1 big handful of kale
1 cup coconut water
1.5 cup of orange juice
1 tsp spirulina
1 tsp matcha powder
1-2 drops of lime essential oil
TO MAKE IT MORE FILLING:
2 tbsp brown rice protein powder
1/2 cup of oats
Place all ingredients in a high powered blender and blitz until smooth. Keep in the fridge until ready to consume.
If you choose to add in the oats and protein powder, which I always do for an extra energy boost, keep in mind that the texture of the smoothie isn’t quite as smooth once they have been added. So if you’re someone who is all about the texture and likes the smoothie to be silky smooth maybe leave the oats and rice protein powder on the shelf.
