My name is Chloe Thornton and I am a nurse, midwife and wellness coach from Australia who is passionate about women’s health and well-being. I have been a health and wellness blogger for the past 5+ years utilising my social media platforms to navigate the path to spiritual, physical and mental well-being.
I have always endeavored to be open, honest and down to earth in my approach to sharing in hope that it will inspire and empower others to make positive changes to their lifestyle to benefit their health and well-being. Since finishing study and commencing work as a nurse and midwife I have found a new level of clarity in regards to my social, environmental and economic responsibility. Things such as decluttering, minimalist/conscious consumerism, financial freedom, economic footprint, ethical living principles, waste reduction and responsible waste disposal, mental health promotion, self care, empowerment, tox free living and stress reduction are now in the forefront of my mind and I am determined to make sure the impact my life has on the planet, and those who inhabit it, is a positive one.
I have joined doTERRA as a Wellness Advocate because I see the honest potential to achieve so much of the above through partnering with such an inspirational and game-changing company. To be able to empower others to improve their health and well-being, to take back control of how many chemicals are brought into their homes, put on their skin + ingested and to contribute to the larger body of humanitarian work that doTERRA is doing in the world is an opportunity too good to pass up (you can do it too, but we’ll save that for another post, or shoot me an email to learn more – firstname.lastname@example.org).
I have been using doTERRA essential oils for over 12months and during that time my love for these pots of liquid gold has skyrocketed and they have worked their way into every aspect of my life. I currently wear Frankinscense + Wild orange together as perfume, put Lemon and DigestZen in my jug of water during the day, drop Peppermint under my tongue before a run, rub it on my chest and under my nose when I meditate and diffuse it with lavender when I go to bed, I reach for the oregano everyday to mix with coconut oil and perform oil pulling with, diffuse grapefruit and orange to pep me up, have OnGuard as a tea with honey, ginger + turmeric, use tea tree oil on my pimples and add a few drops to my shampoo…….. and the list goes on and on and on.
Below I have popped a little bit about doTERRA and the incredible way in which their company has a positive impact on thousands of people from all around the globe.
My personal experience with the oils
DoTERRA is a truly conscious company whose vision, missions, sourcing and sustainability practices, as well as their business model, is paving the way for future companies. DoTERRA is a shining example that running empowering, conscious and eco-sustainable projects and a thriving product focused business on a global scale is not only possible, but the way of the future. In today’s society the consumer has become so disconnected from the products they are spending their hard earned dollars on that very few individuals know where the product they are purchasing comes from, whether the sourcing is sustainable and environmentally friendly, how the farmers/growers/manufacturers are treated, whether they are paid sufficiently for their care, time and skill and the quality of what they are buying.
Not only do doTERRA have an incredible co-impact sourcing structure to grow and harvest their essential oils, but they harvest their oils from all over the world, each oil is harvested in an area or the world, often third world countries, where the plant source is abundance and thriving so to achieve the highest potency & quality of therapeutic oils.
By doing this they are creating jobs and providing income in countries where there it is much needed and developing healthy long-term relationships with artisans and distillers around the world. They work with trust-worthy, long-term buyers and they, in turn, can invest in quality equipment and employees and keep a stable price and a stable product. The growers organize themselves into cooperatives and work together and receive fair and on-time payments throughout the year.
In these areas, doTERRA’s Healing Hands foundation is financing things like hospitals, schools, water projects and more to improve the community and empower growers, families and communities now and in the future. This provides hope to many families and ensures the long-term supply of the best plant materials to consistently deliver the highest quality product. To learn more about some of the amazing projects they are working on see below link for a list of their projects to gain an understanding of the enormity of their global footprint – https://www.doterra.com/US/en/healing-hands-global-footprint.
“Days for Girls works to provide every girl in the world the education, safety, and dignity that they deserve through direct distribution of sustainable feminine hygiene kits; by partnering with nonprofits, groups, and organizations; by raising awareness; and by helping communities around the world start their own programs. Thanks to a global grassroots network of thousands of volunteers and supporters on six continents, Days for Girls has reached women and girls in over 100 countries.” (https://www.doterra.com/US/en/humanitarian-hygiene-education)
So, by using doTERRA essential oils you are impacting many more lives than your own. doTERRA has over 100 essential oils on the market which they source from 40 different countries, 23 of which are considered developing countries.
